Thorgal is a total hero. Courageous and weak sometimes, fierce and in love, indomitable Viking but sensitive, human but sent gods, warrior and pacifist. Halfway between history and fantastic, Van Hamme's imagination and Rosinski's talent have given birth to a true saga, a model of the heroic genre. Here Thorgal lets himself go to the softness of things, in a calm host tribe where his wife must bring their child to life. But war, again, destroys this happiness. It is in fact the second beginning of the series, since Aaricia will disappear there and Thorgal, becomes the intrepid warrior he was, return to his mythical destiny.

The first one shows us Aaricia who wants to find her mother, who died some time before, and who is saved by the young Thorgal. The second story shows us a Thorgal of about 10 years who decides to leave this village that rejoins her, the little girl will do everything to have him come back to her. The third story focuses on the hatred between Thorgal and Bjorn, the brother of Aaricia, a situation in which the little blonde, then about 10/11 years old (she is younger than Thorgal), takes part very quickly. In the last story Aaricia is 14 years old, she meets the young god Vigrid who will take her far into imaginary countries.
