Volume 1

**Beerus**, the God of Destruction, dreams of a "Super Saiyan God" warrior and goes to find him. He challenges Goku, easily defeats him, and threatens to destroy Earth. Goku obtains the power of his Saiyan companions to become **Super Saiyan God**; the fight is inconclusive, and Beerus spares Earth. Whis (Beerus's mentor angel) begins training Goku and Vegeta, who surpass SSG by reaching **Super Saiyan Blue**. Beerus and his twin brother **Champa** (God of Destruction of Universe 6) decide to organize a tournament: the winning universe will take Earth from Universe 7 and gain access to the **Super Dragon Balls** (the original, planet-sized Dragon Balls, scattered across both universes). Goku is the first fighter from Universe 7; he defeats **Botamo** by ring out, then faces **Frost**.

Volume 2

Frost defeats Goku by ring out, and Piccolo in the same manner. It is discovered that Frost is cheating with a poisoned needle; Piccolo and Goku are reinstated. Vegeta quickly defeats Frost by ring out. Vegeta struggles against **Otta Magetta** (insensible metal man), but wins by insulting him. Vegeta provokes **Cabbe** (young Saiyan) until he becomes Super Saiyan, then defeats him. Vegeta is then defeated by **Hit** (assassin from Universe 6, using a time-skip technique). Goku fights Hit evenly but leaves the ring to face **Monaka** (a fake fighter). Hit lets him win. Beerus uses the Super Dragon Balls to restore the Earth of Universe 6. **Zenō-sama** (the King of All, who rules over the 12 universes) announces that he will organize a tournament between all universes. **Trunks** (from the future) reappears, fleeing a Goku Black in his timeline.

Volume 3

Before the appearance of Goku Black, Trunks trained with Kaiō-shin in his timeline and defeated Bobbidi using his **Super Saiyan 2**—but Kaiō-shin died, leading to Beerus's death as well. Beerus and Whis deduce that Goku Black must be a high-level god himself. Zenō-sama calls Goku as a friend and gives him a button to summon him. Beerus and Whis identify **Zamas** (Kaiō-shin of Universe 10, apprentice of **Gowas**) as the culprit. Goku Black killed Gowas, used the Super Dragon Balls to swap bodies with Goku (and kill Goku), traveled to Trunks' timeline, and killed the Kaiō-shin, which killed the Gods of Destruction. Vegeta confronts Goku Black, but **Zamas** (from Trunks' timeline) appears and heals him, allowing him to reach **Super Saiyan Rosé**. Zamas became immortal via the Dragon Balls.

Volume 4

Goku returns to Kame-Sennin to learn the **Mafū-ba** technique; Vegeta trains in the Room of Spirit and Time. Kaiō-shin and Gowas travel to Trunks' timeline where Gowas is severely injured while trying to reason with Goku Black. Vegeta fights Goku Black in SSG, briefly shifting to SSB. Goku attempts the Mafū-ba on Zamas but forgets the talisman. Goku Black and Zamas fuse (Potara) into **God Zamas** (immortal). Goku and Vegeta use the Potara to fuse into **Vegerot**, but the fusion only lasts for an hour (as they are mortal) and breaks apart early. Trunks, who has healing powers as an apprentice of Kaiō-shin, heals Goku.

Volume 5

Goku uses Beerus's **Destruction** technique to destroy God Zamas, but stops when Mai is used as a shield. The Potara fusion breaks (1-hour limit). Trunks cuts God Zamas in half with his sword, but Zamas is immortal: the cells merged during the fusion, causing him to divide into copies. Vegeta tries to destroy him with fire, but this creates more copies. Goku and Vegeta flee to their timeline while the others stall. Goku remembers Zenō-sama's button, presses it, and **Future Zenō** appears, destroying the universe (along with God Zamas) and sending everyone back to the main timeline. Goku returns to retrieve this Zenō so he can meet the other. Trunks and Mai return to their timeline before the Kaiō-shin's death to warn Beerus. The two Zenō-sama organize a **Tournament of Power** in 40 hours, summoning the Gods of Destruction, Angels, and Kaiō-shin from the 12 universes. An exhibition match between the Zenō was planned but replaced by Goku vs Toppo.

Volume 6

The battles between the Gods of Destruction are too violent for the Zenō. A new exhibition match between Goku and **Toppo** takes place. Goku loses, and Toppo tells him that a mortal named **Jiren** is the strongest in Universe 11 (stronger than the God of Destruction). The rules of the **Tournament of Power** are explained: 10 warriors per universe, 48 minutes, battle royale, no weapons or medicine, no death, the goal is to knock the opponent out of the arena. The team with the most remaining warriors wins a wish via the Super Dragon Balls; the losing universes are erased. Universes 1, 5, 8, and 12 are exempt (high mortality rates). Universe 11: Toppo recruits the **Pride Troopers** (Dyspo, Jiren). Universe 6: Cabbe recruits two female Saiyans, **Caulifla** and **Kale**. Universe 7: Vegeta, Piccolo, Kame-senin, Kuririn, Android 18, Gohan, and Tenshinhan are recruited. Goku recruits **Android 17** (who has become a wildlife protector). To complete the team, they resurrect **Freeza** for 24 hours via Baba Uranai (with a promise of complete resurrection if they win).

Volume 7

The Tournament of Power begins in the **World of Void** (no flying via ki). Universe 7 quickly knocks out 6 opponents. Freeza forms an alliance with Frost (who makes his own teammates Kuririn and Tenshinhan attack each other, and then the others). Frost eliminates 7 more people but is betrayed and eliminated by Freeza. Freeza eliminates the **Danger Trio** (U9); Universe 9 is the first to be erased. Goku faces Jiren but is blocked by the other Pride Troopers. Hit suggests teaming up with Goku, but Goku refuses (wants to beat Jiren alone and mentions a new transformation). Hit uses his new technique to push Jiren to the edge of the ring, but Jiren easily defeats him. Android 18 fights **Ribrianne** (U2) and her minions, but Kuririn (18's husband) distracts the opponent. Several fighters are knocked out by an invisible fighter from Universe 4 (actually a miniature insect), defeated by Piccolo. Android 17 uses his hearing to defeat him. 37 warriors remain, 33 minutes left.

Volume 8

**Kale** (the shy Saiyan of Universe 6) transforms into **Super Saiyan Berserker** (considered the Legendary Saiyan who appears every 1000 years) to save Caulifla. She loses control and causes the destruction of 4 other universes. Universe 11 almost ejects her, but **Cabbe** saves her and fuses her with Caulifla (Potara stolen from Kaiō-shin, against the rules but the Zenō are too pleased to sanction). **Kefla** (the fusion) eliminates 6 members of Universe 11 and then fights in a double ring-out with Gohan. Universe 6 is erased. Only Universes 7 and 11 remain. Goku cannot engage Jiren, but Kame-sennin dodges his attacks and is eliminated, giving Goku **Ultra Instinct** (autonomous instinct that unconsciously dodges, but only lasts for an instant). Vegeta unlocks his own form (not enough against Jiren). Freeza deceives Toppo and Dyspo, who are eliminated, leaving Jiren alone. Android 17 self-destructs (with no effect on Jiren), but Goku achieves Ultra Instinct again.

Volume 9

Goku achieves **True Ultra Instinct** (silver hair), surpassing Jiren. He cannot maintain it and teams up with Vegeta. Vegeta is eliminated. Freeza reappears and sacrifices himself with Goku to push Jiren out of the ring. In reality, Android 17 simulated his self-destruction and hid: **Universe 7 wins**. Universe 11 is erased, but Android 17 uses his wish on the Super Dragon Balls to **restore all erased universes**. Whis resurrects Freeza (promise kept). Later, Goku and Vegeta try to prevent **Majin Buu** from being taken by a mysterious group, but are defeated and taken themselves. The group is the **Galactic Patrol**, led by **Merus**. They reveal that **Moro**, a magical being who destroyed countless planets by absorbing their life energy, has escaped from the Galactic Prison. 10 million years ago, the Grand Lord of Lords used most of his divine power to seal Moro's magic. The Galactic Patrol wants to extract the Grand Lord of Lords' power from Buu to seal Moro again. With Buu asleep, Goku and Vegeta are enlisted as temporary members. Moro arrives on the new Namek, followed by Goku and Vegeta.

Volume 10

Moro fights Vegeta by exploiting the power of Planet Namek. When he absorbs the energy of the planet and its inhabitants, he also absorbs that of Vegeta and Goku, who are defeated. The young Namekian **Esca** partially heals them. For 3 days, Moro and Cranberry gather the Dragon Balls of Namek. The Galactic Patrol arrives with Buu awakened (the Grand Lord of Lords within him, unlocking his latent power). Buu seems impervious to Moro's magic and tries to seal him again. Cranberry summons **Porunga** and makes two wishes: to heal and restore Moro to full power, then is killed by Moro. Moro makes the 3rd wish before fleeing. Buu heals Goku and Vegeta, then the Grand Lord of Lords takes possession of his body, and the three pursue Moro.

Volume 11

Buu and Moro fight again. Moro realizes that Buu cannot seal his magic because it was Buu's evil side (previously killed by Goku) that received the power of the Grand Lord of Lords. Moro's 3rd wish was to **release all prisoners** from the Galactic Prison. Led by **Saganbo** and reinforced by Moro's magic, the small army of criminals (the **Galactic Bandit Brigade**) escapes and attacks Goku and Vegeta on Namek. Moro absorbs their energy again; Goku and Vegeta retreat with the Galactic Patrol. Moro consumes Namek and travels from planet to planet to become stronger. Vegeta travels to the planet **Yardrat** to learn his unconventional techniques, while Goku enters a Room of Spirit and Time with Merus to master **Ultra Instinct**. The King of the Galaxy asks Jaco to recruit more Earthlings.

Volume 12

Saganbo's minions (**Shimorekka**, **Seven-Three**, **Yunba**) attack Earth, fighting Piccolo, Kuririn, and Jaco. Gohan confronts Seven-Three (who copies Moro's powers). Just as Seven-Three is about to kill them, Moro orders him to leave the planet (Moro wants to personally face Goku and Vegeta and consume their high-level energy in 2 months). On Yardrat, Vegeta easily defeats Moro's minion **Yuzun** thanks to his new power. Whis ends Goku's training and sends Merus (revealed to be a **Training Angel**) back to their world. Moro and the Galactic Bandit Brigade attack Earth and confront Piccolo, Kuririn, Gohan, Kame-senin, Tenshinhan, Chaozu, Yamcha, Jaco, and the Galactic Patrol. Gohan and Piccolo fight Seven-Three (who uses Moro's powers); Android 17 and 18 intervene (they have no chi to absorb).

Volume 13

Saganbo, seeking redemption, fights with a boost of Moro's power. Goku arrives and fights Saganbo, who receives boosts until his body can no longer sustain them. Moro finally enters the scene. Goku uses his new divine technique: although he moves at a speed that allows him to avoid Moro's energy absorption, he has not yet mastered Ultra Instinct and only reaches the entry level, the **-Sign-**. This unstable level consumes a lot of stamina, which Moro exploits by prolonging the fight. Goku charges at full power, sensing Moro is stronger. When Goku can no longer maintain Ultra Instinct -Sign-, **Vegeta arrives** on Earth, having finally mastered his new technique.

Volume 14

Vegeta uses **Forced Spirit Fission** to release the souls and life energy that Moro consumed. This weakens Moro and resurrects those killed by absorption (notably the **Namekians**). Moro then consumes **Seven-Three** (who had a copy of Moro in reserve) and becomes stronger. He acquires the ability to copy Seven-Three and uses it on Vegeta. Goku, Vegeta, and their friends are unable to challenge Moro, who mortally wounds Goku and Piccolo. Beerus and Whis intervene (slightly) by helping Dende heal everyone and allowing Merus to fight Moro. Merus seals Moro's copying ability by destroying the crystals on his body, but by using his Angel powers, he violates the **Angel's Law** and ceases to exist. His sacrifice pushes Goku to finally **perfect Ultra Instinct**, surpassing Moro.

Volume 15

Moro promises to surrender but attacks Goku as soon as he accepts a senzu bean. Moro still cannot injure Goku. Desperate, he notices and reattaches a severed hand that had copied Merus before his copying power was sealed. His body cannot contain the Angel's power; it swells and then **fuses with the Earth**, making it his body. Killing him would also destroy the Earth, and the energy will continue to swell until a galactic explosion. Whis (before leaving with Beerus) informs Goku that the only way to defeat Moro is to destroy the crystal on his forehead. Goku is trapped, but Vegeta uses his **Reverse Forced Spirit Fission** and gives Goku the energy of their friends and the divine power of **Uub**, allowing him to break his chains and defeat Moro. Days later, the Dragon Balls of Namek restore the destroyed planets. Merus is resurrected as a mortal. The remains of Seven-Three are stolen by **Granolah** (a Cerealian, the last survivor of the planet Cereal, whose family was massacred by the Saiyans and Freeza).

Volume 16

The Heeters learn about the Dragon Balls from Seven-Three and remember that a Namekian lives with Granolah on the planet Cereal, **Monaito**. Granolah ignores Monaito's warning and uses the two Cerealian Dragon Balls to become the strongest being in the universe (shortening his life from 150 to 3 years), then asks the Heeters for Freeza's location. The Heeters want to take control of Freeza's army; they trap Goku and Vegeta by making them believe that Granolah is terrorizing the planet Cereal. **Macki** and **Oil** steal a Dragon Radar on Earth and tell Granolah that Goku and Vegeta are Saiyan assassins from Freeza on their way to kill him. Goku and Vegeta (trained by Beerus, having learned the Destruction technique) confront Granolah, whose evolved right eye allows him to see their weaknesses and attack their vital points.

Volume 17

Goku uses perfected Ultra Instinct to force the Cerealian to reveal that the Granolah he fought is a weaker clone/illusion. Facing the real Granolah, Vegeta unlocks a new form learned from Beerus, **Ultra Ego** (which feeds on his ego and Saiyan love for battle). Goku and Vegeta realize they were trapped by Macki and Oil, but Granolah ignores Oatmeel and continues his quest for revenge. During the fight, Granolah also unlocks the evolved form of his left eye. Just as Granolah is about to sacrifice himself to kill Vegeta, **Monaito** arrives, guided by Oatmeel, and reveals to Granolah that the one who saved them from the Saiyan massacre 40 years ago was a Saiyan named **Bardock**.

Volume 18

Granolah learns that **Bardock** showed mercy to Monaito, Granolah, and his mother 40 years ago, but that Elec killed his mother. Elec uses the Cerealian Dragon Balls to make his younger brother **Gas** the new strongest being in the universe. Since Granolah was no longer useful, Gas attacks him, along with Goku and Vegeta. Granolah eats Vegeta's last senzu bean and seems to dominate Gas (who refuses to use his new powers, then seems disadvantaged by his lack of experience). But on Elec's order, Gas transforms into 'unleashing his instincts' and enters a blind rage. Seeing Goku (the spitting image of Bardock, whom Gas fought 40 years ago), Gas regains his senses in his new form.

Volume 19

After Elec shoots Granolah, Goku fights Gas and drags him through several locations and planets to buy time while Monaito heals Granolah. Goku abandons Gas on a distant planet and returns to Cereal where Monaito gives him a **Scouter** left by Bardock containing an audio recording of his actions 40 years prior. In a flashback of the Bardock vs. Gas fight, it is learned that the Cerealian Dragon Balls were used by Monaito to wish for "the prosperity of Bardock's sons"—explaining why Goku and Raditz survived the Saiyan extinction by Freeza. Hearing that Bardock only thought of victory, Goku and Vegeta understand what "Saiyan pride" is. Together, they fight Gas, who realizes they are getting stronger.

Volume 20

Vegeta continues to fight Gas until Ultra Ego drains all his energy, then Goku takes over. Gas reaches a new level, and the two Saiyans fight to give Granolah time to charge a final attack. Although he lands it, Granolah does not intentionally kill Gas. Gas seriously injures Monaito. **Freeza** appears, quickly kills Gas and Elec, and reveals a new form, **Black Freeza**, obtained by training in a Room of Spirit and Time for 10 years. He leaves with Macki and Oil as servants. Whis takes Goku and Vegeta to Beerus's planet to train and surpass Freeza. On Earth, Trunks and Goten begin fighting crime as superheroes **Saiyaman X-1** and **X-2**. They investigate the sabotage of Capsule Corp. robots and find a floppy disk named "**Dr. Gero**".

Volume 21

Mai starts high school with Trunks and Goten. **Dr. Hedo** sends his Beta Androids against them. Mai uses the reservation for their prom to trap Hedo, but he escapes. Kuririn reveals that Hedo is the **grandson of Dr. Gero** and that the police want to prevent the **reformed Red Ribbon Army** from contacting him. Hedo destroys the floppy disk but is arrested for corpse theft. Upon release, **Magenta** and **Carmine** recruit him to build Androids. They convince him that Goku and his friends are alien invaders led by Bulma. Six months later, Piccolo begins training **Pan** (Gohan is absorbed in his research). Piccolo is attacked by **Gamma #2** (superhero-themed Android) and is followed to the Red Ribbon base. Hedo works on **Cell Max** (giant version of Cell) but hesitates to activate it (incomplete control program). Bulma cannot reach Goku and Vegeta (who are training Broly with Beerus and Whis).

Volume 22

Beerus agrees to hide **Broly**, **Cheelai**, and **Lemo** from Freeza on his planet. Goku and Vegeta train. Piccolo uses the Dragon Balls to awaken his latent potential (Shenlong gives him 'a little more'). Piccolo infiltrates the Red Ribbon and convinces Pan to let herself be kidnapped to get Gohan out. Together, Gohan and Piccolo fight **Gamma #1 and #2** (who believe the heroes are the villains). Piccolo unlocks a new form: **Orange Piccolo**. Seeing the Red Ribbon mistreat Pan, the Gammas realize that Hedo was deceived. Magenta flees and is killed by Hedo, but activates Cell Max. Bulma arrives with Goten, Trunks, Kuririn, and Android 18 when the fight against giant Cell begins.

Volume 23

Goten and Trunks fight Cell Max alongside the Gammas, then fuse into a **failed Gotenks**. The others join without damaging Cell Max's only weakness (his head). **Gamma #2** sacrifices himself and cuts off Cell's left arm. The group occupies Cell so that Gohan (rejuvenated after a senzu) can launch a final attack. When Piccolo appears to be killed, Gohan takes a new transformation, but Piccolo was protected by Gamma #1. Piccolo keeps Cell Max pinned down while Gohan uses Piccolo's **Makankōsappō** (Light of Death) to destroy the giant Cell. Dr. Hedo and Gamma #1 (remorseful) are hired by Bulma. Carmine and the remnants of the Red Ribbon retreat into their facade, **Red Pharmaceuticals**. Vegeta beats Goku in their sparring; Whis finally realizes that Bulma was trying to contact him.

Volume 24

After a failed attempt by Carmine and **Soldier 15** (Android) to turn Goten and Trunks against Gohan, the five are taken to Beerus's planet (Goku wants to test Gohan's new form, **Gohan Beast**), and the two antagonists are accidentally taken along. After Gohan measures up against Goten, Trunks, Goku (in perfected Ultra Instinct), and Broly (who is progressing in controlling his rage), a battle royale erupts before they return to Earth. While Goku accompanies Piccolo to pick up Pan at school, Carmine abandons the Red Ribbon to dedicate himself to **Red Pharmaceuticals**. It is learned that Goten and Trunks were inspired to become **Saiyaman X-1** and **X-2** during a visit to the Earth Heroes Museum (where Trunks saw Cleangod defeat a crime, unaware it was Gohan).
