At the beginning of the 11th century, Thorfinn is a young Icelander raised on stories of sailors and warriors. After his father is killed by the mercenary leader Askeladd, he reluctantly joins his band with a single goal: to become strong enough to defeat him in a duel and avenge his family. Caught in the wars between kingdoms and Viking armies, Thorfinn grows up surrounded by violence, conquest, and political ambition. His journey gradually leads him to question revenge, war, and the very meaning of what it means to be a true warrior.
