Thorfinn and his crew make a brief stop at Leif's farm to bid him farewell before setting off for Vinland.
Leif has changed. So much ground has been covered since the death of Thor and the beginning of Thorfinn's journey. Fortunately, Gros-Yeux seems incapable of changing. The day of the great departure has arrived; the sea now opens before the travelers, full of mysteries and unknown creatures. But when they finally set foot on the land of all their hopes, will they find the utopian land they have always dreamed of, or another world like the one they left, full of wars and violence?
