Overview

Batman: Arkham Asylum confines Batman to a relatively compact space where corridors, courtyards, buildings and secret passages gradually become a setting for investigation and confrontation. Hand-to-hand combat, stealthy movement and the use of gadgets are integrated into a structure designed to embody Batman's methods as much as his physical strength.

Arkham City greatly expands this formula by turning an entire district of Gotham into an area for exploration. Movement takes on new importance, missions multiply and the roster of enemies grows, while the principles established by the first game remain at the heart of the experience. The space becomes larger without abandoning the alternation between observation, combat and stealth.

Arkham Knight pushes this evolution further with a much more widely accessible Gotham and introduces the Batmobile as a major element of movement and certain confrontations. Across the three games, the scale therefore changes radically, but the same logic remains: giving the player several tools to analyze a situation, control the space and choose how Batman intervenes before his enemies truly understand where he is.
