What's included
Your subscription gives access to every PANACHES Desktop module, on the number of machines included in your plan.
Updates
PANACHES Desktop updates are included as long as your subscription is active.
Number of machines
The monthly plan allows 2 active devices, the yearly plan 3. Beyond that limit, activating a new device is refused; devices already activated keep working normally.
Working offline
PANACHES checks your license online at most every 7 days. Between checks, no connection is needed. If a check fails due to no network, the app tolerates up to 7 additional days before requiring a connection again.
Expiration
When your trial or subscription expires without renewal, PANACHES Desktop stops launching until a valid license is reactivated. There is no read-only mode: the app is either fully usable or blocked at startup.
Cancellation
You can cancel anytime from the Stripe customer portal, accessible directly inside PANACHES. Once the cancellation is processed, the license is no longer valid at the next check.
Access to your files
PANACHES never deletes your local files. If your subscription expires or is cancelled, your documents stay intact on your disk, in their original format.
Exporting
Once the app is blocked by an invalid license, exporting from PANACHES itself is no longer possible. Your files remain directly accessible from other software compatible with their format (for example .docx, .xlsx or .md depending on the module).
License verification
Verification happens automatically at startup and periodically (every 7 days by default); it needs an occasional internet connection, not a permanent one.

Does the website replace PANACHES Desktop?
No. The site is the media layer, community, resource library and download point. The desktop app remains the workspace.
Does the trial require a bank card?
No. The 7-day trial is included in the desktop application.
How do I manage my subscription?
From PANACHES, subscription management opens a secure Stripe customer session.
Do my creative files go to the cloud?
PANACHES is local-first. Software data stays local by default, except explicit online services such as Stripe for payment.
Does PANACHES use AI by default?
No. AI features are off by default. You choose to enable them from the application, for Ambre AI or for the modules' AI panels.
Is an AI model installed automatically?
No. Public builds do not force any heavy model. Gemma 4 4B is offered as a recommended downloadable model from the application, but downloading it remains voluntary.
Can I use PANACHES without AI?
Yes. PANACHES remains a complete workspace for web, documents, code, notes, media and organization, even if you keep AI disabled.
Can I choose my own model?
Yes. Advanced users can add or select their own compatible local models, including GGUF models depending on the runtime used.
Why does PANACHES not provide an installer with an integrated AI model by default?
To keep the installer lighter, respect user choice and avoid installing several gigabytes of model files without explicit consent. Local AI remains available for people who want it.
What machine do I need for local AI?
The desktop base mostly depends on OS, RAM and storage. Ambre AI models add their own needs: start with a light model, then adjust according to CPU, GPU, VRAM and observed latency.
Does local RAG replace human verification?
No. Ambre AI helps retrieve and synthesize local sources, but citations, dates, excerpts and limits remain yours to verify before any decision or publication.
Can the integrated terminal run system commands?
The editor includes an integrated terminal for trying commands or checking scripts in your workspace.
What can I do if PANACHES feels slow with a large project?
Close unused items, choose a lighter AI model if needed, check available space and keep projects organized in clear folders.
