Sublime was an American band formed in Long Beach, California, in the late 1980s around Bradley Nowell, Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh. Their music blended ska punk, reggae, dub, punk rock and hip-hop, with a laid-back yet energetic sound, strong Jamaican influences and lyrics often focused on everyday life, excess and California culture. With albums such as 40oz. to Freedom, Robbin’ the Hood and Sublime, the band became one of the most iconic acts in 1990s American ska punk.
