Social Distortion is an American punk rock band formed in California in the late 1970s around Mike Ness. Their music blends punk rock, rockabilly, country and rock ’n’ roll, with a more melodic and roots-oriented sound than many punk bands of the same era, along with lyrics focused on loneliness, mistakes, relationships and redemption. With albums such as Mommy’s Little Monster, Social Distortion and White Light, White Heat, White Trash, the band became one of the most enduring and influential acts in California punk.
