At the end of the 19th century, a massive horse race known as the Steel Ball Run crosses the United States from west to east and promises an enormous prize to its winner. Johnny Joestar, a former jockey left paraplegic, decides to enter after meeting Gyro Zeppeli, a mysterious competitor who can use a technique known as the Spin. As the stages progress, Johnny hopes to understand this power and regain the use of his legs, while the race gradually reveals stakes far greater than a simple competition. Between rivalries, political conspiracies, Stand users, and the search for relics with extraordinary properties, their journey becomes a struggle where personal ambition and the fate of the country increasingly intersect.
