Kagome Higurashi, a teenage girl living in modern-day Japan, accidentally falls into an ancient well that transports her to the Sengoku period. There she meets Inuyasha, a half-human, half-demon hanyō who was once sealed to a sacred tree. When the Shikon Jewel, a stone of immense spiritual power, is shattered into countless fragments scattered across the land, Kagome and Inuyasha are forced to search for them before they fall into the wrong hands. Their journey leads them to gather a group of allies and confront numerous demons, while an enemy connected to Inuyasha’s past and the priestess Kikyo manipulates events from the shadows.
