Edward and Alphonse Elric are two brothers fascinated by alchemy who attempt to bring their mother back to life despite the absolute prohibition against human transmutation. The experiment ends in disaster: Edward loses part of his body while Alphonse loses his entire body, leaving his soul bound to a suit of armor. Determined to restore their original bodies, the brothers set out in search of the Philosopher’s Stone and gradually discover that its existence is connected to political, military, and alchemical secrets far greater than they ever imagined.
