Yatora Yaguchi is a talented high school student who earns good grades without really knowing what he wants to do with his life. Behind his confident appearance, however, he feels a deep sense of emptiness until the day he discovers painting. Fascinated by the freedom and intensity he finds in art, he decides to apply to the prestigious Tokyo University of the Arts. With little formal training and surrounded by applicants who have been drawing for years, Yatora must learn technique, sharpen his eye, and understand what he truly wants to express. Through entrance-exam preparation, doubts, rivalries, and encounters with other young artists, his journey becomes as much a search for himself as an artistic challenge.
