"Perhaps the time is very near when we will see that the cornerstone of the sublime and unconditioned buildings that dogmatic philosophers were no longer to raise was at the bottom only popular superstition coming from an immemorial time (like the superstition of the soul which, becoming superstition to the subject and to the self, continues to this day (i) the creation of wrongs, (ii) any puncture of words, perhaps, an aberrant suggestion of grammar, or (iii) the reckless generalization of a few limited facts, very personal, of a very human, too human character. It seems that in order to engrave themselves, with their eternal demands in the heart of humanity, all great things must first wander around the world in the form of monstrous and frightening masks; one of these masks was the dogmatic philosophy, for example, the Platonic invention of the pure spirit and the Good in itself. But now that we have come to an end, that Europe is breathing and coming out of this nightmare and that it is allowed to enjoy at least ... a healthier sleep, we, whose very task is to watch, have inherited all the energy that the fight against this error has greatly disciplined."
