This series full of humour, audacity and sensitivity describes the daily lives of two young women in search of love and tolerance, Katchoo and Francine.
A few weeks after Darcy Parker's death, Francine, Katchoo and David took to a small house, believing they had left their trouble behind. David just learned that he had inherited Darcy's fortune and was about to go to New York to sign the legal documents with Francine and Katchoo. But while everything should go for the best, Francine let her friends go without her and then the unthinkable happens. Everything turns for the heroes of Strangers in Paradise in this volume loaded in emotion that will leave each of them deeply marked.
One year after the end of the previous volume, David slowly recovered from his wounds to Francine and his mother. David had just inherited Darcy Parker's fortune, Francine was now engaged to Brad Silver, everything seemed to be going for the best in the world.
Francine in Tennessee, on the verge of marrying Brad. Katchoo in Hawaii with David. Just a few days before her marriage and the realization of her dreams, Francine realizes that someone is missing to finally make her life flourish. But when she announces her decision to her relatives, the story takes an unreal turn that links the beginning of the SIP saga in a high school to her announced conclusion in the mountains of Santa Fe. Is it the end of Strangers in Paradise or a new start?
Francine's marriage is close, yet she is still not sure she is happy. It's time for Francine to make a decision: Brad or Katchoo? Meanwhile, the towel burns between Katchoo and David in Hawaii. It's likely to lead David and Tambi on unpredictable paths. And for Veronica Bouedaue, it's time for the big return! Finally, almost. This chapter redefines Strangers in Paradise for the upcoming volumes as well as the place occupied by each character. He also clarifies the different versions of the story seen earlier.
Francine canceled her marriage to return to Houston. She is now sure to love Katchoo but is not ready to realize this love, which poses a problem between the two young women. So Francine does her best to overcome her blockages, but will that be enough? Meanwhile, Tambi tries to get pregnant in Japan and it's rather sporting!
The days are quietly linked for our heroes. Francine's marriage is approaching at a great pace and Katchoo, with the help of Casey, realizes that there is a life after Francine.
Since the beginning of the series, Terry Moore has been sowing clues about David Qin's more than doubtful past in Japan and the fact that he has not always been named that way. Finally, the puzzle will be reconstructed. All the elements are being re-established and the shadow zones revealed: how did a small strike, the son of a magnate of organized crime, become a quiet young man and turned to religion? What exactly are David's relations with his half sister Darcy?
Francine is far away, and enjoys the life of a surgeon's wife and sister-in-law of a rock star. Casey has also left, she is now a review leader in Las Vegas. Katchoo has remained in Houston and her career as an artist takes off, thanks to the success of her first exhibition. As for Freddie... he is always equal to himself! So all this little world swims in happiness. Or almost...
David's return at the end of volume 15 Katchoo's chamboule, and these are our two friends who are going to meet Casey in Las Vegas, the city where we can get married on a head-on... But between two nights and the pursuit of a psychopath, this will be the opportunity for Katchoo to take stock of his feelings and take a new start. Meanwhile, Brad discovers Francine's tattoo and does not appreciate that his wife is engaging in this kind of fantasy without telling him about it. The couple will move to Houston where the new post that Brad has picked up (and incidentally Katchoo) is located. And could it be that the infamous Freddie Femur finally found love?
Casey and David are no longer in a position to find the trouble between Katchoo and Francine since her marriage. They are therefore setting up a delusional plan to rebuff the two young women. But Tambi continues to look out in the shadows, in her very personal way. She discovers David's secret and hastens to reveal it to Casey and Katchoo. How will they react to the terrible news?
Last volume! The final destiny of all our heroes is emerging. Will David be treated? What about the marriage of Francine who beats the wing? Will Tambi finally get a smile? And above all, after 17 volumes, will Freddie finally manage to behave decently?
