In Gotham City, the officers of the GCPD face crimes that even their training cannot always prepare them for. When cases involve supervillains such as Mister Freeze, Two-Face, or the Joker, detectives Renee Montoya, Crispus Allen, and their colleagues try to solve them without constantly relying on Batman. Between crime scenes, interrogations, internal tensions, and media pressure, the members of the unit discover what it means to police a city where masked criminals can turn an ordinary investigation into a disaster. The series follows the everyday lives of officers dealing not only with Gotham’s extraordinary dangers but also with their own professional and personal dilemmas.
