After the events of Season Eight, Buffy tries to rebuild her life in San Francisco while dealing with the consequences of magic disappearing from the world. Vampires, demons, and other supernatural beings are directly affected by this upheaval, while new threats emerge in a reality now deprived of many of its mystical protections. Alongside Willow, Spike, Xander, and Dawn, Buffy continues her role as the Slayer while trying to create a more stable life for herself. Between personal responsibilities, strained relationships, and dangers created by the new supernatural balance, she must learn to survive in a world where the rules she once knew no longer apply.
