Alberic, king of the Nibelungs, forges a ring of immense power capable of bending all things to the will of its bearer. When Wotan, the Father of the Gods, takes possession of it, Alberic places a curse upon the ring that gradually binds the fate of the gods to that of humanity. The ring then passes from one owner to another, bringing wars, betrayals, and tragedies across several generations. At the heart of the legend stands Siegfried, a hero destined to face dragons, warriors, and divine powers as the rivalries between Wotan, the Nibelungs, and the other forces of the world inexorably lead toward Ragnarök and the downfall of the gods.
