The Specials are a British band formed in Coventry in the late 1970s around Jerry Dammers, Terry Hall, Lynval Golding, Neville Staple, Roddy Radiation, Horace Panter and John Bradbury. Their music blends ska, reggae, punk and new wave, with an energetic, danceable sound closely associated with the 2 Tone movement, along with lyrics focused on social tensions, racism, unemployment and British urban life. With albums such as The Specials and More Specials, as well as songs like A Message to You, Rudy and Ghost Town, the band became one of the defining acts of the British ska revival.
