The Doors was an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in the mid-1960s around Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore. The group became known for a dark, hypnotic sound blending psychedelic rock, blues, jazz and experimental influences, driven by Manzarek’s organ and Morrison’s theatrical voice. With albums such as The Doors, Strange Days and L.A. Woman, The Doors became one of the most iconic American rock bands of the late 1960s.
