Pink Floyd was a British rock band formed in London in the mid-1960s around Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Nick Mason, later joined by David Gilmour. Initially associated with psychedelic rock, the group gradually developed a broader sound blending progressive rock, sonic experimentation and atmospheric compositions, with themes exploring alienation, time, war and modern society. With albums such as The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall, Pink Floyd became one of the most influential and iconic bands in rock history.
