Fugazi is an American post-hardcore band formed in Washington, D.C., in the late 1980s around Ian MacKaye, Guy Picciotto, Joe Lally and Brendan Canty. Their music blends hardcore punk, post-punk, dub and experimental rock, with tense rhythmic structures, angular guitars and a deeply independent approach to production and distribution. With albums such as Repeater, In on the Kill Taker and The Argument, Fugazi became one of the most influential bands in post-hardcore and the American DIY scene.
