Franz Ferdinand is a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in the early 2000s around Alex Kapranos, Bob Hardy, Nick McCarthy and Paul Thomson. The group became known for a sharp, danceable sound blending indie rock, post-punk revival, pop and new-wave influences, driven by angular guitars and instantly catchy choruses. With albums such as Franz Ferdinand, You Could Have It So Much Better and Tonight: Franz Ferdinand, the band became one of the defining acts of British indie rock in the 2000s.
