DJ Shadow, born Joshua Davis, is an American producer, DJ and composer from California who became a major figure in instrumental hip-hop and turntablism. His music is built around meticulous sampling, blending hip-hop, funk, soul, jazz, rock and electronic textures into often atmospheric and cinematic compositions. With albums such as Endtroducing....., The Private Press and Our Pathetic Age, DJ Shadow became one of the most influential producers in electronic music and experimental hip-hop.
