Arctic Monkeys is a British rock band formed in Sheffield in the early 2000s around Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O’Malley and Matt Helders. Initially known for sharp, energetic and highly observational rock, the group gradually expanded its sound toward garage rock, alternative rock, psychedelic pop and more sophisticated arrangements. With albums such as Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, Favourite Worst Nightmare, AM and Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, Arctic Monkeys became one of the most influential British bands of their generation.
