Overview

Presentation

AOA, short for Ace of Angels, is a South Korean girl group formed by FNC Entertainment. It debuted on July 30, 2012, with Angels' Story and the song Elvis. Its original lineup consisted of Jimin, Choa, Yuna, Hyejeong, Mina, Seolhyun, Chanmi (later known as Dohwa), and Youkyung. The group initially introduced an unusual concept, alternating between dance performances and live instrumental music.

Beginning in 2014, AOA achieved widespread success with Miniskirt, followed by Short Hair, Like a Cat, and Heart Attack. Its musical style combined dance-pop, electropop, and R&B influences, supported by recognizable choreography and a distinctive visual identity. The group also developed a career in Japan, notably releasing the album Ace of Angels in 2015.

Following several lineup changes, AOA participated in the television competition Queendom in 2019 and released the mini-album NEW MOON, featuring Come See Me. This remains its last known collective music release. Group activities subsequently ceased, while the members pursued individual careers.
