In order to reach the supreme rank of Death Scythe, a demonic weapon must ingest 99 human souls and 1 witch soul. This mission is entrusted to the Meisters, specialists of the fight who will reap souls at the risk of their own life. Maka, Soul Eater, Black Star and Tsubaki are sent on mission by Master Shinigami, the god of death, to capture Professor Sid. The anniversary of the foundation of Shibusen is in full swing. All the students are gathered to celebrate the event with Master Shinigami in dignity. But in the shadows, the fearsome Medusa wants to take advantage of it to put her plan to execution and awaken Asura, the great devourer. Accompanied by Dr Stein, our young meisters go in pursuit of Medusa and his accomplices. A fight against the watch is engaged to prevent the return of this terrible demon.
The race against the clock continues in the basements of the Shibusen Institute. Medusa and cohort are about to revive the legendary "great devorer" who sleeps under the school. Trying at all costs to put this evil plan in check, Maka agrees to sink into madness in order to confront Crona, the damned blade. An introspective fight at the uncertain end is then engaged between the two meisters.

Sid, Mira and Azusa are sent on mission by Master Shinigami in order to break through the dark designs of the organization Arachnophobia. They infiltrate a secret laboratory and discover a terrible weapon of massive enorcellation: "the ethical demodulator" which allows to cause his victims to sink into deep dementia...
Following what he learned on his last mission, Kid began to frantically search for information about Eibon, but it seems that all the traces have disappeared. For his part, Chrona is increasingly frightened by the return of Médusa and does not really know which camp to choose.
