A journey among the dead, a political picture of Italy, from Antiquity to the 14th century, a theology manual, a petition against corruption of the powerful and the decadence of the popes, The Divine Comedy is also a fabulous novel of adventures, which, through its visions of horror and ecstasy, marked painters, poets, novelists and filmmakers to this day. To allow for a quick readability, this new octasyllable version attempts to regain the lively and vibrant lightness of an eternally modern style, where scholarly nobility and popular insolence intertwine.
