After the events of Dark Nights: Metal, the DC Multiverse is trapped in a distorted reality ruled by Perpetua and the Batman Who Laughs, who has become an almost godlike force. Earth is transformed into a collection of nightmarish territories controlled by corrupted versions of Batman, while the surviving heroes are scattered or forced into resistance. Wonder Woman then takes a central role in the fight to free the Multiverse. Alongside Batman, Superman, and their allies, she seeks to break the cycle of destruction and restore a reality where heroes can still choose their own future.
