After the events of Blackest Night, twelve heroes and villains who were once dead are mysteriously brought back to life. Among them, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Firestorm, and Captain Boomerang quickly discover that their resurrection was no accident. Each has been given a second chance, but also a mission whose true purpose remains unclear. At the center of these events is Deadman, now connected to a white ring capable of influencing life itself. As old wounds resurface and new threats emerge, the resurrected must understand why they were chosen and what role they are meant to play in the fragile balance between life and death.

Issue 1
At the Blackest Night event, Geoff Johns had focused on secondary characters from the DC universe rather than the Trinity superstars: Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Along with Green Lantern and Flash were Mera, Aquaman's widow, Firestorm, an avatar of an energy matrix combining two individuals in one, or Atom, a miniature vigilante. These heroes, less known but equally courageous and combative, helped their colleagues to counter an invasion of super-zombia, most of which were former Justice League teammates. In the end, twelve heroes and villains resurrected, integrating DC mythology again. In these pages, you will find the adventures of some of them.
Issue 2
After their mysterious resurrection, Aquaman, J'onn J'onzz, the Falcon, Firestorm, Hawkman and Hawkgirl try, on their side, to gather the remains of their past lives. But Boston Brand, the former Deadman also returned to life, carrying the white ring, will have to contact them to understand the reasons for their return. He will then identify which of these returning men is the most suitable to become the protector of the Earth.
Issue 3
Deadman's quest to find the new champion of the Earth is coming to an end. For their part, the resurrected heroes are facing their worst enemies and must overcome hardships as painful physically as emotionally. Aquaman faces an invasion, J'onn J'onzz confronts the last representative of his kind and Firestorm fights the Anti-Monitor! At the end of this adventure, all of them wonder which of these revenants will stay for good.
