When Bruce Wayne is found near the lifeless body of Vesper Fairchild, all the evidence appears to point to him as the murderer. Arrested and drawn into an investigation that threatens both his civilian identity and his life as Batman, Bruce becomes the center of a case that even his closest allies struggle to understand. Convinced that Bruce Wayne has become a weakness, he gradually distances himself from that identity and devotes himself entirely to being Batman. Meanwhile, Nightwing, Robin, Oracle, and the rest of the Bat-Family work to uncover the truth and prove his innocence before the real culprit can destroy his life for good.
