After a period of deep tension for mutantkind, Cyclops and Emma Frost rebuild a team of X-Men with the goal of restoring a more heroic and visible image for their community. Wolverine, Kitty Pryde, and Beast join them just as several threats begin to challenge their mission, including the emergence of a supposed cure capable of suppressing the mutant gene. Between attacks on the Xavier Institute, scientific manipulation, and conflicts from beyond Earth, the team must protect its students while confronting the internal divisions that weaken the X-Men and their place in the world.
