Created around the 8th century B.C., the Games of Olympy were one of the lasting institutions of ancient Greece. This volume of the Voyages d'Alix restores its places, disciplines and spirit, with the concern for the documentary precision dear to Jacques Martin. This new edition benefits from a new cover, a new model and a new dossier in two parts: a comparison of the ancient games and the current games on the one hand, and a reference by Pierre de Coubertin on the other. On the occasion of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the book is prefaced by the President of the International Olympic Committee (I.C.O.), Jacques Rogge.
