Introduction

Hanni (하니), born Hanni Pham on October 6, 2004, in Melbourne, Australia, and also known by her Vietnamese name Phạm Ngọc Hân, is a Vietnamese-Australian singer. Born into a family of Vietnamese descent, she is best known as a member of NewJeans, a K-pop girl group introduced in 2022 under the ADOR label.

As one of the group's vocalists, she is recognized for her gentle, expressive voice, natural delivery and engaging stage presence. Her multilingual abilities and involvement in songwriting also contribute to her artistic identity.

Career

Hanni grew up in Melbourne, where she developed an early interest in singing and dancing. She was a member of Aemina Dance Crew, a group specializing in K-pop dance covers. In 2019, she passed an international audition organized by HYBE and subsequently moved to South Korea for artistic training. In 2021, she appeared in BTS's Permission to Dance music video.

On July 22, 2022, she was introduced to the public with NewJeans and the music video for Attention. The group quickly achieved international success with a musical identity combining pop, R&B and influences from the 1990s and 2000s. Hanni contributed to the lyrics of Hype Boy, one of the group's earliest hits.

In June 2024, she attracted particular attention in Japan with a cover of Seiko Matsuda's Aoi Sangoshō (Blue Coral Reef) at the Tokyo Dome. Following a contractual dispute between NewJeans and ADOR, her decision to remain with the agency was confirmed in December 2025. She reappeared in official group content in July 2026, although no date for the resumption of musical activities had yet been announced.
