Introduction
Danielle (다니엘), born Danielle Marsh on April 11, 2005, in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, and also known by her Korean name Mo Ji-hye (모지혜), is a Korean-Australian singer and songwriter. She rose to prominence as a member of NewJeans, a K-pop girl group formed under the ADOR label in 2022.
Recognized for her clear voice, expressiveness and warm stage presence, she contributed to the group's musical identity while participating in the writing of several songs. Her career also includes voice acting, singing for film soundtracks and, since 2026, independent musical projects.
Career
Danielle grew up between Australia and South Korea in a multicultural family. She appeared on several South Korean television programs during childhood before returning to live in Australia. She later moved back to South Korea for artistic training and joined the girl group project developed by ADOR.
On July 22, 2022, she was introduced to the public with NewJeans through the release of the Attention music video, a song she also helped write. The group quickly achieved international success with an aesthetic inspired by the 1990s and 2000s, combining pop, R&B and electronic influences. Danielle continued contributing lyrics to songs including Super Shy, Cool with You and How Sweet.
In 2023, she voiced Ariel in the Korean-dubbed version of Disney's The Little Mermaid and performed a Korean rendition of Part of Your World. This experience allowed her to explore film-related singing and voice acting beyond her activities with NewJeans.
Following an extended contractual dispute between NewJeans and ADOR, the agency announced the termination of Danielle's contract on December 29, 2025, ending her membership in the group. She subsequently began communicating directly with audiences through her personal social media accounts. In October 2026, she shared Stay, a self-written acoustic composition, on YouTube, while her legal dispute with ADOR remained ongoing.
