Introduction

Hyein (혜인), born Lee Hyein (이혜인) on April 21, 2008, in Incheon, South Korea, is a singer best known as a member of NewJeans, a K-pop girl group introduced in 2022 under ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE.

As the youngest member of the group, she is recognized for her gentle vocal tone, expressive performances and confident stage presence despite her young age at debut. Her early experience in modeling and entertainment contributes to her ease in front of cameras and her artistic versatility.

Career

Hyein began her career in modeling during childhood before joining the children's music group U.SSO Girl in 2017 under the stage name U.Jeong. She subsequently performed with Play With Me Club, a group combining music and entertainment content. These early experiences introduced her to singing, dancing and public performances before her training at ADOR.

On July 22, 2022, she was introduced to the public with NewJeans through the release of the Attention music video. The group quickly achieved international success with songs such as Hype Boy, Ditto and OMG, further establishing its popularity with the mini-album Get Up in 2023. Hyein contributed to this rise through her distinctive vocal sensibility and expressive performances.

In February 2024, she collaborated with South Korean singer IU on Shh.., a track from her mini-album The Winning. This collaboration marked an important step in Hyein's artistic development beyond NewJeans. Alongside her musical career, she has remained active in fashion, notably as a Louis Vuitton ambassador since December 2022.

Following an interruption of NewJeans' activities caused by a contractual dispute with ADOR, Hyein confirmed her return to the agency in November 2025. She gradually resumed some promotional activities in 2026, while the group's future musical projects remained in preparation.
