Introduction

NingNing (닝닝), born Ning Yizhuo (宁艺卓) on October 23, 2002, in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China, is a Chinese singer best known as a member of aespa, a K-pop girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2020.

As the group's main vocalist and youngest member, she is recognized for her powerful, expressive voice and slightly husky vocal tone. Her ability to handle both melodic passages and technically demanding performances makes her one of aespa's distinctive voices.

Career

Passionate about singing from an early age, NingNing appeared in several Chinese television music competitions, including Let's Sing Kids. These early experiences in front of the cameras helped her develop her vocal abilities and attracted attention from the South Korean music industry.

Discovered by SM Entertainment, she joined the agency in 2016 and became part of its SM Rookies training program, where she was publicly introduced in September of that year. She also participated in musical projects associated with the animated series Shining Star in 2017 before continuing her artistic training for several years.

On November 17, 2020, she officially debuted with aespa and the single Black Mamba. She subsequently developed her career within the group, performing many of its prominent vocal sections. Her expressive delivery and technical abilities contribute to aespa's distinctive musical identity.
