Wu-Tang Clan is an American hip-hop collective from Staten Island, New York, built around rappers including RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa and Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Active since the early 1990s, the group became known for a dark, raw sound shaped by sampling, martial arts cinema and dense lyricism filled with street imagery, references and distinctive characters. With Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) and the many successful solo careers of its members, Wu-Tang Clan became one of the most influential collectives in hip-hop history.
