Spook & the Guay was a French band formed in Toulouse in 1990, blending alternative rock, ska, reggae, ragga and Latin influences. Driven by brass, Jamaican rhythms and a strong live energy, the group performed songs in French, English, Spanish and Jamaican Creole, moving between socially conscious lyrics and more festive material. With albums such as Mi Tierra, Ocho Rios and La Vida Sonora, Spook & the Guay became a notable act in Toulouse’s alternative music scene before disbanding in 2005.
