RJD2, born Ramble Jon Krohn, is an American producer, DJ and composer who became an important figure in instrumental hip-hop and the 2000s beatmaking scene. His music blends hip-hop, soul, funk, rock, electronic music and sampling, with often cinematic compositions and a highly melodic approach to production. With albums such as Deadringer, Since We Last Spoke and The Third Hand, RJD2 became one of the most distinctive producers in American instrumental hip-hop.
