Mobb Deep was an American hip-hop duo from Queensbridge, New York, formed by Prodigy and Havoc. Active from the early 1990s, the group became one of the defining acts of East Coast hardcore rap through a dark atmosphere, minimal and menacing production, and lyrics focused on street life, survival, violence and urban paranoia. With landmark albums such as The Infamous and Hell on Earth, Mobb Deep had a lasting impact on the sound of New York hip-hop.
