Massive Attack is a British group formed in Bristol in the late 1980s around Robert “3D” Del Naja, Grant “Daddy G” Marshall and Andrew “Mushroom” Vowles. Their music blends hip-hop, dub, soul, electronic music and ambient, with slow rhythms, deep bass and dark atmospheres that helped define the trip-hop sound. With albums such as Blue Lines, Protection and Mezzanine, Massive Attack became one of the most influential groups in British electronic music.
