Jedi Mind Tricks is an American hip-hop group from Philadelphia built around rapper Vinnie Paz and producer Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind. Active since the 1990s, the group became a major force in underground rap through a dark, heavy sound shaped by boom bap, cinematic samples and dense lyricism dealing with violence, religion, politics, history and inner conflict. With albums such as Violent by Design, Legacy of Blood and Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell, Jedi Mind Tricks became one of the defining acts of independent hardcore hip-hop.
