Groundation is an American reggae band formed in California in the late 1990s around Harrison Stafford. Their music blends roots reggae, dub, jazz and African influences, with a strong emphasis on improvisation, brass arrangements and long, organic compositions. With albums such as Hebron Gate, We Free Again and Upon the Bridge, Groundation became one of the most distinctive bands in contemporary reggae.
