Fugees is an American hip-hop group from New Jersey formed by Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel. Active mainly during the 1990s, the trio became known for blending rap, soul, reggae, R&B and Caribbean influences, combining melodic performances with socially conscious and accessible songwriting. With the album The Score and iconic tracks such as Killing Me Softly and Ready or Not, Fugees became one of the defining hip-hop groups of their era.
