Rudo lives in the slums of a floating city where the poorest inhabitants are despised while their waste is thrown into a vast chasm known as the Abyss. Falsely accused of murder, he is sentenced to be cast into it and discovers that a hostile world survives below, overrun by creatures born from the garbage discarded by the surface. Taken in by the Cleaners, a group of fighters able to draw power from certain objects, Rudo begins learning to control his own abilities. Determined to survive and uncover the truth behind what happened to him, he enters a brutal world where waste, social inequality, and abandoned objects take on an unexpected importance.
