To fight this threat, special fire brigades are tasked with investigating these incidents and neutralizing the victims. Shinra Kusakabe, a young recruit capable of producing flames from his feet, joins Special Fire Force Company 8 hoping to become a hero and uncover the truth behind the fire that destroyed his family. His investigations gradually lead him toward a much larger conspiracy connected to the origin of the Infernals and the fate of humanity.
