Mavis lifts the shared curse with Zeref by accepting his love for her, which kills them both; she resurrects Makarov. Lucy finishes editing the book before it disappears with Zeref, saving Natsu. Acnologia consumes the space magic and escapes, freeing Ichiya and Anna. He begins to destroy Terre-Lande (instinctive state). Acnologia's disembodied spirit transports Natsu and the Dragon Slayers into space. Lucy decides to seal Acnologia's body with Fairy Sphere, luring him to Hargeon. With the magic of all the continent's mages (via Merudy), she immobilizes Acnologia. Natsu kills him with the combined power of the Dragon Slayers. One year later: Lucy's novel ceremony. Two strangers resembling Mavis and Zeref cross paths. Natsu, Lucy, and their friends set off for the Centennial Quest (a guild quest never completed in 100 years) — setting up the Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest sequel.
