Fairy Tail defeats the false Duke, Athena II, and the Signario Sisters, restoring all the stolen Dragon Slayer magic. Saber Tooth acquires the philosopher's stone from Zalam and Iruha—unaware that they are the same person and the real Duke, still alive. With the stone, Athena sacrifices herself as material to restore Viernes, whom Natsu destroys after Wendy imbues him with the magic of her friends. Gold Owl disappears, its members being artifacts created by Viernes; the only survivors are the Signario Sisters, who recover their memories as members of Fire & Flame (a group serving Ignia). Athena survives after her spirit miraculously enters the body of Athena II. With Ignia as the last Dragon God, Fairy Tail leaves Saber Tooth to search for his lair, the Fire God Castle.
