Fairy Tail and Diabolos escape the labyrinth collapse caused by Dogramag's death. The two guilds make peace, as does Elefseria with Selene (who is revealed to be mortally wounded by her duel with Ignia). Irene saves her by enchanting Selene's wound onto herself; with Selene's help, Irene reincarnates in Edolas as the newborn daughter of Mystogan and Erza Knightwalker. Before returning to Magnolia, Elefseria and Selene reveal the existence of Athena: a weapon created by Elefseria's student, capable of killing Ignia and the remaining Dragon God, Viernes. In Ishgal, the team and Jellal learn from Sorano Agria (Saber Tooth) that Athena is the mechanical White Wizard that Faris was pretending to be, and a member of Gold Owl. Natsu and his friends head to the city of Firan on Guiltina, where his friends are captured by the locals under Gold Owl's orders.
