Laxus has a rematch with Kirin, discovering that his lacrima implant is the crystallized heart of the dragon whose soul is contained in Kirin's coffin. Embarrassed by the lacrima's resonance with the soul, Laxus removes his implant to defeat Kirin. Selene persuades Fairy Tail to help defeat Dogramag by destroying magical hearts scattered in the labyrinth (which make Dogramag invulnerable to attacks from Natsu and Suzaku). Gray and Gajeel prevent two hearts from being stolen by Sai and a seemingly resurrected God Serena from the alchemist guild Gold Owl. After the hearts are destroyed, Natsu executes a Unison Raid with Suzaku, killing Dogramag.
